I am not sure if anyone will read this but I am 38 years old and believe in Jesus.
About 15 years ago I came from a small town in the Kootenays called Fernie BC. I came to Vancouver looking for a job and instead was invited to a small church in North Vancouver. I was depressed most of my life after high school and had no direction or care about anything, I thought about ending my life a lot.
When I stepped into the church people were milling around waiting for the service to start. I saw people lifting up their hands and thought they were crazy. I turned to leave and I heard someone say " Let me give this brother a hug" When I turned I saw this big fellow from Fiji with a bible walking quickly toward me. He grabbed me, throwing his arms around me hugging me tightly. I couldn't let go. I then felt the precense of the Lord all around me and it felt like I was underwater and a plug was pulled and it was as if water was draining all around me.
The Lord then spoke to me and said ( I didn't really know it was the Lord at that point. ) " this is the way people should be toward one another"

He let go and all the fear was gone. We got marched up to the front and then about 40 members of the choir stood in front of me worshipping the Lord. I never saw anything like it. All I could think was that they all could see my heart and I wanted to get out of there because I didn't like what state my heart was in.
Then I saw a man in a suit walking around worshipping the Lord while the choir sang. He preached as he went. He ministered about Moses and the children of Isreal when they built the golden calf.
I saw myself in a vision with the children of Israel and knew I needed to ask God for forgiveness. He then preached about Jesus' death and ressurrection. The next week I gave my life to Jesus and so many changed took place in my life since then I could go on for hours.
The man who was ministering while the choir sang was my paster "Ross Norris" who has since gone to be with the Lord. He was Pastored by Reg Layzell.
I am the fruit of the 1948 North Battleford Saskatchewan revival and thankful for people like your great grandfather.
A quote from the Charge of the Light Brigade......"Unto you we pass the torch."

I totally agree with this. Over and over again in the New Testament, Paul wrote in his letters to the church that he wished that they would grow in wisdom and understanding about God. He wrote that at the beginning of most of the epistles. Of course the resounding theme of the entire rest each letter was about Loving God (the first most important comandment), and about loving each other (the second most important comandment). As I began my journey into my calling in ministry, I found myself in college classes that were detailed in picking peices of the Word and doctrine apart to understand theology and I found myself never actually doing any ministry. It seemed to me that the best way to pursue a life of Christ was to actually do it and learn more as I go.
As important as it is to be trained and to gain appropriate understanding to prepare for any task, great or small, I believe it is equally important to do. I have known Christian leaders that have been great at discussing the Word and the nature of God, but I always wondered if they had ever taken the time to speak to unbelievers; to practice what they spoke and to love on those who don't know love. As I look to the Word, the Ultimate Authority. Jesus called the disciples while they were fishing and mending nets. They hadn't even recieved the Holy Spirit on Pentacost before they were already sent out to do miracles and cast out demons. They learned as they went. And as it says in 1 John 2:27
"But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you everything you need to know, and what he teaches is true—it is not a lie. So just as he has taught you, remain in fellowship with Christ."
We learn as we go and the Holy Spirit get's the rest. Sorry for the long comment!!

WE attend Cornerstone. My 18 year old son has several questions that we can not answer, that are holding up his committment to God. They are good questions but he is so analytical that some things he need to take on faith he just won't or can't. He accepted Christ at 5, and was baptized at eight. I know God has not let go of him. I know his Dad has had visions of him returning to God so I hold on to that but he needs the answers or some good discussion to get towards those answers. We work in Christian camping, so he has seen all kids of "Christians". would you be willing to talk ,converse with him next time you are in our area. HE has computer access to. thanks

Here we are in an area that used to be known as "the Preacher's Graveyard,
and yet there's this revival wave moving up and down I-87. From Cornerstone
on one end, over to Life Church, up to Grace Fellowship, (My Church) and
then to Northway Church, and then back around again.

It's like no one place or no one super preacher can take the credit. Everyone is
growing all over the place, with all of us regular folks working behind the scenes.
Chances are it's like that in other churches as well it's just these are the ones
I'm most familiar with.

Meanwhile, because I have family out there it was exciting to hear about the
launch of Mz/West in Rome NY. Awesome, awesome awesome.
