Submission to Authority
April 13, 2008 at 2:07 am (Books, Theology, leadership) (Brendan Witton, John Bevere, Rick Renner, Submission to Authority, Under Cover)
Been super busy, but caught up on reading a few blogs. Brendan Witton put up a great post from Rick Renner on Submission to Authority. This doctrine has been abused by some but the baby cant be thrown out with the bath water. I remember having dinner with John Bevere and him talking about his book Under Cover and saying that some of the most important doctrines that we need in our lives are sometimes ones that have been taken to extremes and therefore we avoid them. The answer is not avoiding them, but honoring them in a biblical fashion. Check out Brendan’s post here. It’s worth the read.

Hey Mike… Under Cover was one of those cornerstone teachings for my life.
I’m totally tracking with you on this one. I’ve seen time and time again the protection and blessing that comes from honoring Godly authority in your life.
Thanks for the ‘e-love’

Hey Brendan,
Under Cover was a revolution for me as well. I had grown up reading Tale of Three Kings and Watchman Nee but John’s book really grounded me on the issue. Good to hear from you.
Blessings!
